HANOI, Vietnam (AP) – Luis Palau was not able to hold a two-day evangelistic festival in Vietnam’s capital of Hanoi. The U. S. evangelist says the government didn’t provide the necessary permits until Friday, when the event was to start, and then there were problems surrounding the venue that couldn’t be worked out in time. The previous weekend — despite similar last-minute approvals and a venue change – Palau’s team was able to stage a two-day festival in Ho Chi Minh City where 5,500 people trusted Christ. Palau has been invited to return in June for rallies with Vietnam’s registered churches in Hanoi and Da Nang. But Palau adds, “We’ll confirm all that after what we have gone through here in the capital city.”
