Franklin Graham: Haiti, Koreas Both Volatile

BOONE, N.C. (AP) _ The Rev. Franklin Graham says he’s asked the U.S. government to airlift rehydration fluids to Haiti to treat victims of a rapidly spreading cholera epidemic.

Graham, whose Samaritan’s Purse ministry has almost 300 workers in Haiti, told KTIS radio that more than 500,000 Haitians could be infected and tens of thousands could die unless supplies arrive quickly.

Graham says Haiti’s government is so corrupt that he believes the U.S. military should take control.

On the other side of the world, Graham fears that North Korea’s artillery attack on a South Korean island could ignite a devastating conflict that sucks in the United States and Korea’s neighbors.

Graham, who has been to North Korea, says “It’s almost like they’re trying to start a war.”
