NEW YORK (AP) _ For becoming a Christian and helping Israeli intelligence fight Hamas, Mosab Yousef has been disowned by his father — a founder of the Islamic militant group.

But the author of the memoir “Son of Hamas” says he now worships a God who will never disown him.

Since leaving Islam, Yousef has come to believe that the more closely Muslims follow Allah and Muhammad, the more they become inhuman terrorists. In an Associated Press interview, Yousef said, “The biggest terrorist is Allah of the Quran, the god of the Quran, the god of Islam.”

But Yousef doesn’t view himself as having changed religions. He says, “I am not a religious person today. I am a Jesus Christ follower. It’s a matter of a relationship.”
